Borrowing Information

Borrowing

  • Visit the Circulation Desk for all your borrowing needs and questions.
  • Present your DCC ID card each time you wish to borrow library materials.
  • No limit on the number of items borrowed.
  • For DCC students (including remote, concurrent, and credit-free) and SUNY Open Access users:
    • Normal borrowing period for circulating items is three weeks; see our loan periods table for other items.
  • For faculty and staff:
    • Normal borrowing period is 16 weeks.

Returning

  • Return books to the Circulation Desk during library hours.
  • Return books to the outside book drop 24 hours a day. The book drop is located at the Creek Road entrance to Hudson Hall.

Renewals

  • You can renew items by phone, in person, or through your library account.
    • Hot topic books & Nooks may not be renewed.
    • Books with hold requests may not be renewed.

Overdue Materials

  • Due date reminders and overdue notices are emailed to patrons. 

Lost or Damaged Materials

  • Report any lost or damaged items to the library as soon as possible.
  • Lost or damaged fees are determined on a case by case basis.
    • Minimum lost or damaged fee is $50 per item.
    • Maximum lost or damaged fee is the item replacement cost.
