RitzDiscovery Library Account: Place a Hold

Place a Hold

Please note that all students, faculty, and staff must have a DCC SUNYcard to use the library account features. Please visit Campus Security to obtain an ID card.

Holds can be placed on DCC owned items that are currently checked out. Holds may not be placed on items that are on the shelf. If you need assistance locating an item on the shelf, visit the reference desk. 

Step 1: If you locate a checked out item in RitzDiscovery that you would like to borrow, the Get It section of the record will display a link to Place Hold on DCC Item. Click on the link.

Step 2: Enter a date after which you do not want the item (if applicable) and click Send Request.

Step 3: A box will appear confirming that your hold has been placed (your request has been submitted). You can then monitor your request in your library card account information. You will receive an email when the item is available to be picked up at the circulation desk.
