Course Reserves

Policies and access information for reserve items

Placing Items on Reserve

The Ritz Library can place books and media on reserve for students to use in the library. Reserve items can be from the library collection, or you may place your own materials on reserve.  Requests can be made using the form below, or by visiting the library.

Course reserves are processed as quickly as possible. Most items are available 24-48 hours after the item is received in the library. Items can be placed on reserve for one semester at a time. If you have questions about placing books or media on reserve, please contact Barbara Korey, Senior Library Clerk, at 845-431-8638.

Reserve Textbooks

Textbooks for courses with high enrollment are automatically placed on reserve. Academic departments or individual instructors can also place personal copies of textbooks on reserve for student use.

Reserve textbooks may not leave the library. They are checked out to students for one hour at a time.
