What is Copyright?

Copyright is “the legal right to be the only one to reproduce, publish, and sell a book, musical recording, etc., for a certain period of time”*. *Merriam Webster Dictionary

What Does Copyright Mean for You?

1. Get permission from the creator OR

2. Look for works that are:

  • Public Domain (the copyright has expired)
  • Royalty Free
  • Licensed by Creative Commons or another public copyright 

3. Use proper attribution and/or citations!
